The Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corporation (Tri-ED) blends public and private funds to enhance the business climate in and foster regional cooperation among Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties. We market and promote Northern Kentucky on a national and international basis as a desirable location for new or expanding businesses, and we assist existing local companies to expand operations and grow their customer base.

Since its founding in 1987, Northern Kentucky Tri-ED has led the successful relocation or expansion efforts for 670 business projects, representing more than 67,000 primary industry jobs created with a capital investment of more than $8.4 billion.

 
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Northern Kentucky Tri-ED is seeking a college student to work as an Economic Development Intern.  Responsibilities for this position include providing economic development, administrative, and project support as well as economic research.  Additionally, this role could also help coordinate marketing activities, assist in existing industry functions, and special projects as assigned. 

DUTIES:
  • Assist project managers with project support needs such as development of proposals, site searches, and data analysis.
  • Assist in the development and management of Tri-ED's business retention and expansion departments and efforts.
  • Assist in maintaining Tri-ED's resource database for our industrial sites, office sites, and buildings. 
  • Help analyze and assess the effectiveness of Tri-ED's programs, including incentive programs. 
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Undergraduate student.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred knowledge of publicly available datasets such as the American Community Survey.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability and willingness to work in a variety of projects.
  • Behave and dress in a professional manner. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
